Pogo Freak?

Game World & Storytelling:
This is an arcade type game so storytelling is not the primary focus. Much like how Pac-Man doesn't have much of a story, and the objective is to get a high score. However, there is still a story, it's just there to primarily contextualize this silly gameplay. In a world where evil platforms make humans explode on impact, you must use your mighty pogostick to bounce of the head of the platform's evil minions to survive for as long as you can. Failure means death
Gameplay Goal
The goal of this game was to create a game that was simple yet fun. The main mechanic is of course, using the character's pogo stick to bounce on enemies. However, it wouldn't be very fun if the enemies just walked back and forth, so they will randomly change direction to keep you on your toes. The enemies will also get faster over time like how enemies would get faster as the levels went on in old arcade high score games like Pac Man. You can also do super jumps do ascend to higher levels where you can get score faster, but the enemies are smaller and harder to hit so it's easier to break your streak. This allows the player to control their risk/reward ratio.
So to summarize, the goal was to create a high-score based game that was simple and fun, yet has enough complexity and player choice to be satisfying.
